As most of you probably know by now, last weekend Sam and I finally booked our tickets to South America. So, now it’s time to indulge in some serious wanderlust and travel planning… with the delicious satisfaction of knowing it’s all definitely going to happen. There’s a list of about a squillion things I can’t wait to do when I get out there – but here’s my top five!
Second only to Rio, this four day carnival on Colombia’s Caribbean coast starts two weeks after we touch down in Bogota – which is perfect timing since I was a tiny bit gutted we wouldn’t make the festivities in Brazil!
Visit Machu Picchu
If you’ve been following my blog you probably know this is one of my biggest goals in life! As I’m not sure I’m cut out for the traditional Inca trek, we’re currently looking into the slightly less hardcore, possibly more interesting Inca Jungle Trek option – so I’d love to hear from anyone who’s tried it.
Salar de Uyuni
I’m not sure there are any words – which isn’t great for a travel blogger – to describe how much I want to visit these salt flats in Bolivia. I’m kind of obsessed. All the photos just look so incredible and strange!
World cup in Rio
Ok, so I don’t really like football. Not even in the lukewarm, ‘I support England in the World Cup’ way that most non-football fans do. But even I have to admit that the festivities in Brazil throughout the World Cup are bound to be unmissable. Plus, Sam’s going to enjoy it so much that it’s sure to be infectious!
Have a real adventure!
Slightly cheesy I know, but its no lie – I’ve been daydreaming about going off on an adventure since I was a little girl curled up with the Famous Five. It feels like there’s not too many adventures left out there in the real world these days – but if there’s one to be had, I’m bound to find it in South America! I can’t wait!
