If you follow me on social media, you may have spotted that I recently went on an incredible ultra luxury cruise with Silversea Cruises. I’ve yet to publish my post about the experience – but in a nutshell, it was AMAZING. More on that to come.
This was my first ever cruise, so it was a really unique experience for me. I was very unsure what to expect, and one of the things that really had me in a pickle before we left was what to take with me. I mean, what should you wear on a cruise? I was in a panic.
Thankfully, I had luxury lifestyle vlogger xameliax with me on the cruise. She’s a lot more stylish than me and had some great tips. What I could have really done with, though, was the handy Cruise Packing Guide below! If you’re stuck for ideas about how to pack for a cruise, this should help.
A Few Quick Tips
My top tip? Check your ship’s itinerary to see the number of formal, informal, and casual nights on your trip. They’ll often send you a dress-code in advance, too. Here’s a quick breakdown if you’re not sure, though.
In cruise terms, casual actually means “smart casual”, while informal means the kind of dress you’d wear to a fancy restaurant. I pretty much went for a simple shift dress and heels every night – you can’t go wrong really. On formal night, think wedding or ball – so gowns and cocktail dresses. The guide below has some really great tips for each night.
During the day go for comfortable but again smart-casual outfits. Linen shorts and smart, loose tops are always a winner. And you can never go wrong with a big, floppy hat.
