Glamping Somerset

Looking for a countryside getaway with a difference? Glamping in Somerset could be the perfect escape!

This small county in the south of England is all too often overlooked, but it has so much to offer. Think idyllic rolling countryside, picturesque villages, and epic views – often all to yourself.

Glamping is the perfect way to immerse yourself in all the natural beauty this lovely corner of England has to offer. So, I’ve teamed up with Unique hideaways to showcase some of their most amazing glamping properties in Somerset.

There are lots of beautiful spots to explore while you’re glamping in Somerset. Shepherd’s huts are one of the most popular glamping options, and when you catch a glimpse of the Lamb’s Tale Shepherd’s Hut in Somerset it’s easy to see why.

This is a gorgeous, hand-crafted hut that really takes glamping to a whole new level. Think king-sized bed with memory foam mattress, beautiful cream-painted wooden furnishings, and a hardwood floor.

Keep things cosy with a log burner, a heated towel rail, AND underfloor heating. There’s even WiFi and a flat-screen TV – not something you can expect to see in most glamping huts.

Oh – and like all the shepherd’s huts in this post, Lamb’s Tale has its very own private hot tub. Turn on the bubbles, pour yourself a glass of something sparkly, and get ready to unwind!

You’ll find the Lamb’s Tale and Duck’s Puddle (up next) shepherd’s huts on the same working farm. So groups can travel together, but still enjoy a bit of privacy.

On the same farm as the property above, but in its own private spot, Duck’s Puddle Shepherd’s Hut is another beauty.

Again, you can expect a seriously stunning home-from-home retreat. And again, there’s a king-sized bed, cosy log-burner, underfloor heating, heated towel rails, WiFi, and a TV and DVD player.

Thow open the huge double doors in the morning for an almost-alfresco breakfast, revelling in the splendour of the surrounding countryside. Speaking of al-fresco dining, there’s also a BBQ and firepit in your private garden area – as well as a little patio with table and chairs.

And to top it all off – your own private hot tub, perfect for starry nights in the Quantock Hills!

Outside, there’s a large garden area with a BBQ, fire pit, and comfy sun loungers for summer days. And, best of all, a beautiful, wood-fired hot tub, perfect for watching those dreamy rural sunsets.

Last, but certainly not least of the Somerset glamping properties, we have Lady’s Well. Located on the edge of the Mendip Hills AONB, this hut boasts some glorious uninterrupted views of fields, farmland, woodland, and out to sea.

It’s on a farm that’s a Site of Special Scientific Interest and was once part of the ancient Hutton Estate. You can glimpse the original manor house through the trees!

Interior of a Shepherd's Hut

The shepherd’s hut is beautifully appointed, with cream-painted wooden furniture, and lots of lovely little touches to keep you comfy. Including a king-sized bed, underfloor heating, and a roomy kitchenette featuring an electric oven.

And outside, you can relax in the fully enclosed garden, with a deep pond fed by a natural spring. There’s a BBQ and firepit to make the most of this gorgeous space, as well as a private hot tub – complete with MP3 player fitting so you can enjoy a relaxing soak while listening to your favourite music.
